We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for either an experienced or newly qualified CBT Therapist or Newly Qualified Practitioner Psychologist (Clinical or Counselling) to enjoy a variety of clinical work and professional development opportunities in the South West Essex ARMS (At Risk Mental State) Team.
ARMS services work specifically with young people and adults aged 14-35 considered to be at risk of experiencing psychosis. The South West Essex ARMS service is a friendly and committed multidisciplinary team working in the community of South West Essex. The team offers initial CAARMS assessments and person-centred psychosocial interventions aimed at reducing distress, improving social and occupational functioning, and preventing the development of more severe mental health difficulties.
Main duties of the job
The post holder would be responsible for providing timely access to psychological interventions for individuals who are at risk of developing psychosis. The psychological therapists in the team work autonomously within professional guidelines to provide a high quality specialist psychology service to service users, their families, and other professionals/services involved in their care.
* To be responsible for robust assessment and formulation of a service user’s psychological needs.
* To offer highly skilled care-planning in response to the formulation.
* To ensure that effective, tailored, evidence based psychological assessments and interventions are delivered.
* To work in collaboration with colleagues, teams and other services.
* To contribute to the management of referrals and attend MDT meetings.
Person specification
Education/Qualification
* Professional qualification in psychological therapy from an accredited course e.g. CBT diploma, accredited by BABCP professional body OR Clinical/Counselling Psychology Doctorate. HCPC Registered.
* Post accreditation training in additional specialised areas of psychological practice e.g. CBTp, EMDR, DBT or other.
Experience
* Experience of specialist psychological assessment and treatment of clients across the full range of care settings.
* Experience of working as a qualified psychological therapist for a minimum of two years.
* Experience of working with individuals at risk of developing psychosis or who have experienced psychosis.
