Studio Machinist - IW Location, Production Studio
The role of a Studio Machinist is to produce the highest quality work for our clients.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Working machinery – laser cutters, CNC routers and hand/power tools.
2. Cleaning and maintaining the machines daily.
3. Preparing materials and drawing files.
4. Fabrication and packing.
5. Providing holiday cover for other team members on the Island and our London studio.
We are looking for someone to provide an exceptional standard of service for our clients. Our deadlines can often be tight; therefore, the ideal candidate will work well under pressure and be very organised.
We work with a huge array of clients on varied projects on the island and nationally, often these can be quite high profile and lots of fun to make.
This role would suit someone who enjoys working well in a small team, so excellent interpersonal skills are essential as well as a positive and approachable attitude. Problem solving, creative thinking and willingness to go the extra mile is a necessity, as well as being versatile and hard working.
We are always looking at ways to improve efficiency, develop production methods and increase the scope of our work, we would be looking for these qualities in our ideal candidate too. As we are quite a small team, we all have a variety of different jobs so this position would be ideal for someone who enjoys being busy and multi-tasking; we are very much looking for someone who will ‘roll up their sleeves and get stuck in’.
We actively encourage everyone in our team to use the machines to create their own projects too.
