I am working with a growing injection moulding business with great ties into multiple industries. With a progressive and strong culture on site, this is a great opportunity to join a business that is thriving in their sector.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct trials for new processing tools and materials to enhance product quality and efficiency.
* Set and implement strategies for controlling and improving the injection moulding process and optimizing operations.
* Collaborate with the management team to define and promote best practices within the injection moulding department.
* Work with New Product Development (NPD), tool and product design teams to advance process technology and specify capital equipment requirements.
* Lead the development, implementation, and sustainment of injection moulding best practices across the organization.
* Define specifications for production machines and ancillary equipment to ensure optimal performance.
* Develop and implement reporting tools to measure and analyze injection moulding machinery performance.
* Explore and assess new material opportunities, focusing on the development of sustainable options.
* Actively work on continuous improvement initiatives within the injection moulding process.
* Provide direction and support to development and setter teams on projects and daily tasks.
* Analyze data and prepare comprehensive reports on injection moulding performance.
* Perform faultfinding and repair on moulding machines, ancillary equipment, conveyors, dryers, and robotics; manage contractors and plan maintenance.
Qualifications:
* Time-served mechanical or electrical engineer (mechanical bias preferred).
* Strong background in injection moulding manufacturing.
* Experience in fault-finding and repair of moulding machines, ancillary equipment, conveyors, dryers, and robotics.
* Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics.
* Experience with planned maintenance, and control of stores and spares.
* Ability to manage contractors on-site effectively.
