An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 charge nurse/ward sister to join our team at Pros[ect Place on a Secondment. Prospect Place is a 45 bedded male rehabilitation unit within the RHS Care Hub.
To assist the unit/clinical manager in leadership, managerial duties, role modelling and clinical leadership.
To be familiar with and comply with all Trust and departmental policies, procedures, protocols and guidelines
To be aware of and work towards the Trusts strategic goals.
• The post holder must comply with and support the development of the performance standards within the service/department to ensure the service is responsive to and meets the needs of its customers
• The post holder will be required to develop and maintain good working relationships with all patients, service users, staff, contractors and where appropriate, members of the public

The post holder will need to provide clear clinical leadership to Staff Nurses and
Nursing Assistants working on the ward. They will need to assist the Unit Manager in
developing and maintaining a service committed to the provision of care for those
individuals who require Low Secure Mental Health Rehabilitation.
The post holder will need to actively participate in the day to day running of the unit
and the organisation and development of staff within their sphere of responsibility.
The post holder will undertake the clinical lead for an allocated number of service
users and ensure that high standards of individualised care is provided, based on
best practice, which is co-produced with service users, their families and carers.
The post holder will play a key role in ensuring that quality care is provided reflecting
quality drivers from Royal College of Psychiatry Low Secure Unit Standards and
Care Quality Commission Standards
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Professional Role
With the referral team and Responsible Clinician, undertake assessment of
patients referred for Low Secure Rehabilitation and feedback as required
In the absence of the Unit Manager provide out of hours leadership for Prospect
Place.
Undertake comprehensive, patient-focused, nursing assessment and co-produce
care plans in consultation with the service user and their families and carers
Undertake comprehensive risk assessment and formulate risk management
plans with Service Users, their families and Carers,
