An exciting opportunity has arisen for a band 6 secondment position for 6 months to cover a career break at the Royal Liverpool hospital Ward 8b.
Ward 8b is a 28-bed ward that consists of 3 specialities: Palliative care, Haematology & General Medicine. It is a busy acute ward and training in all specialities is available.
We are seeking a confident, competent, and person-centred Nurse possessing effective clinical leadership and communication skills, who is dynamic and enthusiastic, committed to the provision of high-quality care and treatment, and who enjoys the challenge of working within complex environments.
The successful candidate will be expected to act as a role model to junior staff, assist the ward manager with managerial duties, and have clinical and professional responsibility for the coordination and safe running of the ward.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for a dynamic, highly motivated, and enthusiastic nurse to join our team, providing leadership and high-quality nursing care within medicine.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills, team working skills, and will be dedicated to improving the patient experience.
You will need to demonstrate continuing professional development and a strong sense of commitment to develop others and work closely within a multi-disciplinary team. Experience in peritoneal dialysis is essential.
Job responsibilities
You will support the ward manager to lead, provide, and supervise a very high standard of compassionate care to our patients. You will be supporting the safety and quality agenda of patient care and staff management, ensuring that the values and objectives of the Trust are met while improving patient outcomes.
You will support the journey of the patient from admission to discharge, identify risk and formulate actions to reduce this risk, and ensure patient throughput is effective.
You will display excellent leadership and effective communication skills and be able to demonstrate a proactive, collaborative, and innovative approach to the clinical environment, being passionate about excellence in patient care.

* Registered Nurse, current NMC registration
* Teaching and assessing qualification or equivalent
