Our Major Corrective Team within RWE Renewables is looking for an offshore shift lead based in the United Kingdom.
The role holder must have suitable experience leading main component exchanges (blade, blade bearing, main bearing, gearbox, generator, transformer) on various platforms, including Vestas, Siemens, and Senvion. The role will involve leading a working party and carrying out main component exchanges from a jack-up vessel (JUV) within the RWE fleet.
The position will involve a shift-based work schedule, including days and nights.
About the role:
* Responsible for the real-time offshore technical completion of exchange works
* Ensure the setting-to-work process is rigorously followed in alignment with process and procedures and report any project progress/issues during the task to the MCC JUV Supervisor
* Lead the working party throughout the exchanges, with HSE being at the forefront of all tasks undertaken
* Responsible for the technical development of your team and covering JUV Supervisor role when required
* Support with the creation/review of major component exchange documentation.
* Reporting and management of HSE incidents / near hits ensuring full utilisation of the RITAS reporting system
* Ensure any ‘lessons learned’ are reported to the JUV supervisor to ensure best practices and related documentation are developed accordingly
* Work closely with MCC Platform specialists on development projects and new technologies
* Work towards / enact several roles under the Wind Turbine Safety Rules; and under the Electrical & Mechanical Safety Rules
* Work towards / enact the role of lifting supervisor under LOLER regulations
Job requirements and experience:
* Technical apprenticeship or equivalent technical experience
* Self-motivator; Ability to work efficiently, safely and independently at remote wind farm locations and from home
* People-oriented, proven team leadership experience and conflict management/resolution skills
* GWO Certification for offshore works
* Travel in both Europe and United Kingdom and hold a full driving licence
* English & German speaking required, as well as a high level of communication skills
* IT literate
* Applicants should be able to demonstrate experience in developing a team through main component exchanges while showing high proficiency in communication skills
