The Control Systems Engineer provides technical leadership across Production operations, working to deliver key performance indicators. This role involves taking ownership of ICA related aspects of the delivery of capex & opex schemes and supporting frontline teams to achieve their objectives.

What you'll be doing:
* Designing, testing, and commissioning PLC / HMI / SCADA software using our company standard software solutions.
* Taking ownership of all ICA aspects of the delivery of capex & opex schemes and supporting frontline teams to deliver objectives.
* Proactively managing ICA Engineer workload and collaborating with peers to deliver all requirements, using KPIs to communicate performance and agree prioritisation within Customer Delivery.
* Addressing emerging ICA problems to minimize their effect on operations.
* Ensuring compliance with asset standards to achieve operational and business targets, meeting health and safety, water quality, and statutory requirements.
* Maintaining awareness of changes to asset standards and constructively challenging current or revised standards for efficient business practice.
* Working with Procurement to drive performance and standardisation from the supply chain as part of continual improvement.
* Leading operational teams in Hazops and investigation meetings.
* Driving efficiency through identification of optimisation schemes and delivering projects on deadlines.
* Witnessing the FAT and SAT on projects.
* Leading Production Initiatives and developing continual improvements at asset, site, and Area level.
* Providing visible leadership through area initiatives and site tours, collaborating with colleagues across the business.
* Delivering work through accepted Outage and RAMS processes, providing timely delivery and 2 weeks' notice for RAMS approval.
What you'll need:
Essential Capabilities:
* At least 5 years of experience in industrial controls software design (PLC, HMI & SCADA).
* HNC or equivalent in electrical or mechanical engineering.
* A full UK clean/manual driving licence.
Desired Capabilities:
* Experience with programming/testing/commissioning of Allen-Bradley and/or Omron PLCs.
* Experience in developing iFix SCADA applications.
* Experience in developing Wonderware Intouch/System Platform SCADA applications.
* Experience with programming in VB or other programming languages.
* Experience in server configuration including virtualisation.
* Industrial communications network experience.
* Water industry experience.
* Experience in writing software design technical documentation.
* Experience with company standard software solutions.
