The school is looking for a maths specialist and is happy to consider teachers making a transition from mainstream education.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Teach classes of 6-8 students with a focus on implementing effective communication techniques.
2. Utilize therapy rooms and designated areas for specialist support from a range of therapists including SALTs, occupational therapists, psychologists, and counsellors.
3. Employ specialist communication methods such as Makaton and PECS.
4. Focus on preparation for GCSE subjects and building a curriculum that works for individual needs.
5. Work collaboratively with a senior teaching assistant and 2-3 additional LSAs in your class to provide support.
Qualifications:
QTS is needed for the role, but the school would consider unqualified teachers if you have relevant experience.
