We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Quality Manager to lead continuous improvement in our quality systems within a dynamic manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will ensure our products meet required quality standards, exceeding customer expectations. We are flexible on hours for this role dependent on experience. Operationally, we work 24/5, Monday to Friday, and whilst the role is site based, there is flexibility around start and finish times. Job purpose: To lead quality management practices across the business, ensuring adherence to ISO 9001 standards. This role is responsible for driving continuous improvement in product quality and processes, while placing customer satisfaction at the core of all activities. Key Responsibilities: Develop, implement, and continuously improve quality management systems to maintain certifications and industry standards. Oversee quality control processes to ensure product consistency and customer satisfaction. Conduct internal audits, inspections, and risk assessments to pre-empt quality issues. Manage non-conformities including customer complaints, supplier issues, and internal defects with corrective and preventive actions. Lead root cause analysis efforts and problem-solving initiatives, coaching teams on methodologies to support this. Supervise quality inspections for raw materials, in-process production, and finished goods. Work cross-functionally with production, engineering, and maintenance teams to resolve issues and enhance processes. Analyse quality performance data, identify trends, and drive improvements. Improve key quality metrics (e.g., scrap rates, customer complaints, defect rates, non-quality cost) Train and coach colleagues on quality principles, tools, and procedures. Support the commercial team in understanding customer quality expectations and specifications. Assist in managing quality-related customer service issues and complaints. Ensure quality is embedded in the new product development process. Lead continuous improvement and defect reduction initiatives. Stay informed about changes to quality regulations and implement relevant updates. Manage and mentor quality team personnel. Skills and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Management, Chemistry or related field is desirable. Minimum 5 years of experience in quality management within a manufacturing or transferable environment; sectors such as automotive, aerospace, medical devices, or food manufacturing. Certifications in quality such as CQE, Six Sigma, Lead Auditor and project management. In-depth knowledge of ISO 9001. Strong experience with quality tools such as FMEA, 8D, DMAIC, Root Cause Analysis and CAPA. Proven ability to lead audits and drive quality improvements across departments. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, and familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and data analysis tools. Leadership competencies in customer focus, teamwork, influencing, coaching, managing change, problem-solving, analysis & decision-making, and prioritisation.
