POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking a Production Planner to effectively prioritize, plan, and schedule production activities by tracking machine capacities, work order priorities, and manpower requirements to effectively meet customer delivery deadlines. The Production Planner reports directly to the Operations Manager.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Processes work orders from production requisitions, including setting up work orders in the system, printing work orders, splitting work orders, ensuring drawings are attached, ensuring material is available before release, and filing of work orders.
2. Maintain the integrity of all orders, material, crates, dates, packing, and/or any other changes required to ensure the smooth transition of production orders to the shop floor.
3. Communicates frequently with the Supervisor to stay informed about issues that may impact work order completion dates.
4. Works with Customer Service on inquiries regarding production scheduling.
5. Clears Prod R and Cogi Errors for all work centers daily to maintain inventory integrity and remove errors that cause delays in PGI’ing loads.
6. Manually confirms orders that do not auto-confirm, reconciles coil weights, terminates coil cards, and files.
7. Develops and issues a variety of reports.
8. Prepares spreadsheets to communicate priorities to manufacturing as required.
9. Contributes to the continuous improvement program by participating as a team member on project assignments.
10. Oversees various office administrative duties such as issuance of purchase orders and monitoring and purchasing office supplies.
SKILL, EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
1. High School Diploma or GED.
2. Previous planning/scheduling experience preferred.
3. Sound leadership and decision-making abilities.
4. Excellent verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills.
5. Organizational and planning skills.
6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
7. Knowledge of SAP would be an asset.
