An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, motivated, and highly skilled individual to join the Corporate Reporting & Planning Team as a Finance Analyst. The Corporate Reporting & Planning Team have a unique and interesting role in the management and reporting of the overall Health Board's financial position, annual plan and budget position, and work closely with all teams across the Finance function.
Main duties of the job
As the Finance Analyst, you will be a central point of contact for the Corporate Reporting & Planning team and key responsibilities include:
1. Preparing monthly financial reporting outputs right first time with supporting commentary.
2. The management and reconciliation of key central Corporate Reporting budget components.
3. Analytical review and management of large datasets.
Key skills relating to the role include:
1. Extensive experience of working with Microsoft Excel.
2. Exposure to Financial Systems.
3. Strong analytical skills.
4. Excellent communication skills.
You will be required to support in the process improvement agenda, looking for efficiencies within the team. You will be a critical thinker with strong problem solving skills who pays high attention to detail and has the ability to become familiar with new information quickly. As a key link and central contact between various departments within Finance, it is essential you are an effective communicator.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Qualifications and Knowledge
Essential
1. GCSEs & A Levels including Maths
2. Educated to Post Graduate Diploma level or equivalent, with significant relevant financial experience
3. Previous specialist knowledge of Management Accounts, Financial Accounting or process improvement
4. Experience at management level with proven professional and managerial experience and expertise
5. Knowledge of integrated financial systems.
Desirable
1. CCAB qualification, studying towards or desired progression to professional Accountancy Qualification
2. Evidence of Continuous Professional Development
3. Knowledge of Oracle System Accounting
4. Knowledge and understanding of SQL, Power Query and Power Bi Dashboard Reporting
Experience
Essential
1. Experience of communicating, in writing and verbally, highly politically sensitive information to both internal and external stakeholders
2. Experience of managing & mentoring staff with the ability to support and motivate
3. Experience of delivering high-quality outputs within challenging deadlines
4. Experience of working with and analysing substantial data sets efficiently

1. Previous financial experience within the NHS, Public Sector, or a large complex organisation
