GSL Education are seeking a caring and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive secondary school in Shirebrook. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside teachers and specialists to provide individualised support for students with additional needs. Your role will involve assisting with classroom learning, fostering independence, and helping students develop key life skills in a nurturing and inclusive environment. Responsibilities of the SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA): Support students with special educational needs, including (ASD), ADHD etc. Assist with personalised learning plans to meet the individual needs of students. Work one-on-one and in small groups to encourage student engagement and progress. Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment. Monitor and record student development, sharing insights with teachers and parents. Implement behaviour management strategies to support students' well-being. Requirements of the SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA): Previous experience working with secondary SEN students or relevant training is preferred. A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Ability to create a nurturing and engaging learning environment. A current CV covering the last ten years (with any gaps explained) and an enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
