The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that our products meet the highest quality standards through various testing methods and compliance measures. The primary role is to manage the QA/QC Food Safety program. This includes developing, implementing, and maintaining company policies and procedures relating to all regulatory food safety requirements, food security, quality assurance, and certifications (USDA, SQF, Organic Program, ROC, etc.).
Responsibilities & Duties:
* Manage the food safety, quality assurance, and sanitation programs.
* Responsible for the documentation of Food Safety and Quality Assurance procedures, guidelines, and work instructions.
* Develop, implement, and maintain effective quality systems to continuously improve quality and food safety.
* Maintain HACCP program, pest control program, and conduct crisis management and mock recalls.
* Trend and conduct root cause analysis on customer complaints and non-conformances and determine corrective actions and/or preventative actions.
* Develop, review, and refine all company QA and QC policies and SOPs.
* Interact with all departments and teams to ensure Food Safety and Quality standards are maintained.
* Ensure compliance with applicable certification agencies and ensure audit readiness.
* Responsible for all incoming raw ingredients and finished product evaluations.
* Maintain document control system.
* Supervise sanitation of equipment and facility.
* Conduct product sampling and testing set by company or customer specifications and regulatory requirements.
* Drive continuous improvement throughout the supply chain by refining the sampling/testing/approval of procured materials, enhancing vendor and customer onboarding and compliance, monitoring, and aiding in improving production and processes.
* Prepare the company for SQF/USDA certification in 2024.
* Stay up to date on all Food Safety regulatory requirements to ensure compliance.
* Assume additional responsibilities as they arise.
Education:
* Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Food Science, or Chemical Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Skills:
* Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
* Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
* Ability to effectively present information and respond
