Consultant in Rehabilitation Medicine
PART TIME (4 PA)
Salary Scale - £107,144 - £142,369 per annum (pro rata)
NHS Forth Valley seeks to appoint an enthusiastic and innovative Consultant in Rehabilitation Medicine to join the specialist rehabilitation services in Forth Valley. This role includes confirming diagnosis and prognosis for patients with a range of conditions including spinal and head injuries, stroke, multiple sclerosis, musculoskeletal disorders, congenital or acquired limb loss, muscle disorders, cerebral palsy and spina bifida. The successful applicant will play a pivotal role in leading our multi-disciplinary team, working with patients, their families and carers and provide inreach support to colleagues from other specialties in the acute hospital.
The successful candidate will play an important role in the continuing development and redesign of the Rehabilitation service in line with the Six Principles of Good Rehabilitation outlined in National strategy.
NHS Forth Valley provides acute services for a population of approximately 310,000 people in Central Scotland. Acute services, emergency and complex care, and planned services are provided for at Forth Valley Royal Hospital (FVRH).
Applicants will be expected to have a wide range of experience in rehabilitation medicine and possess the MRCP (UK) or equivalent. Applicants should have full GMC registration and a licence to practise. They will be in possession of the Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians or equivalent, registered with the General Medical Council and on the Specialist Register or be within 6 months of the anticipated award of a CCT at the time of interview or have a certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR). Evidence of recent continued academic and professional development is required. Excellent communication, listening and organisational skills are essential.
