Salary: Circa £51,000 depending on skills and experience and car allowance
Type: Permanent, Full time - 37 hours a week

Role Overview: We are looking for an Operations Manager for Sludge Tankering Logistics. You will be responsible for orchestrating the efficient and safe transportation of sludge from wastewater treatment plants to designated disposal, recycling, or treatment facilities. This role requires meticulous planning, strong logistical acumen, and a keen focus on regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
* Demonstrate visible safety leadership and encourage engagement.
* Liaison with the WROL Planning Manager regarding vehicle/driver/operator weekly performance monitoring.
* Manage compliance with the Operator’s License, including training and performance management of the operational team.
* Ensure operations are carried out effectively, efficiently, and safely.
* Work across the organisation to drive compliance across process areas.
* Collaborate with teams to help achieve business goals.
Minimum Requirements:
* TRANSPORT MANAGERS CPC – UK Road Haulage Operations (National).
* Significant experience in UK Road transport operations in a senior Scheduling/Controlling role.
* Experience of tanker operations, sewage sludge, and/or Biosolids collection & haulage operations.
* Experienced in vehicle performance analysis and reporting.
* Proficient IT skills – experienced in MS Word, MS Excel.
* Proven leadership skills with the ability to challenge and improve performance.
* Health & Safety qualification (e.g., NEBOSH).
* Full driving license is essential.
