We are seeking a Temporary Finance Officer to join a centrally based Oxford University Department on a full-time basis for an initial 12-week term, starting as soon as possible. Key Responsibilities: Review and reconcile internal project documents with Oracle Financials, ensuring compliance with financial agreements from setup through closure. Liaise with Principal Investigators to report on grant balances, advise on financial queries, and monitor grant activity. Prepare internal financial documents for multi-departmental projects and ensure necessary changes are implemented. Oversee project Pre-Award and Suspense accounts and clear monthly expenditure reports. Support internal and external financial reporting, audits, and compliance with sponsor terms and conditions. Contribute to streamlining grant management processes and support the Deputy Finance Manager as required. What We’re Looking For: Relevant accountancy qualification (or part qualification) or equivalent experience managing complex financial projects. Proven understanding of accounting principles, financial controls, and adherence to sponsor terms and funding agreements. Experience managing tight deadlines, multitasking, and engaging with diverse stakeholders. Strong MS Excel skills and experience interpreting financial data for non-financial audiences. Excellent interpersonal skills and discretion in handling confidential financial information.
