Morson Technical Services are currently seeking a Spray Bay Supervisor on a permanent basis to be based at RNAS Yeovilton.
PURPOSE, MAIN ACTIVITIES AND TASKS
Working within the WMS Support Services team based at RNAS Yeovilton, the Spray Bay Supervisor will be the prime focal point for Spray Bay Workshop activity. Responsibilities include:
1. Ensuring the timely completion of all surface finish tasks at both operator and supervisor level as business needs dictate.
2. Maintaining overall supervision of personnel under their charge, ensuring all personnel wear the appropriate RPE and PPE at all times and adhere to all relevant COSHH regulations.
3. Coordinating tasks and prioritizing work in liaison with the R2 Manager, BMB Storekeeper(s), and the Deputy Support Services Manager.
4. Maintaining high standards of cleanliness throughout the Bay in accordance with WMS OP 1701.
5. Being aware of all hazardous work processes and substances, ensuring safety precautions detailed within COSHH regulations and Risk Assessments are adequate, effective, understood, and observed.
6. Ensuring tool control procedures are observed throughout the bay in accordance with WMS OP 502.
7. Controlling all hazardous materials strictly in accordance with current regulations (storage and waste removal).
8. Maintaining control of all tools and equipment within the bay, ensuring all routine servicing is conducted in a timely manner.
9. Supervising the custody and accounting of all Spray Bay stores, organizing issues and returns in liaison with the BMB Storekeeper.
10. Reporting all facility defects at the earliest opportunity and keeping the WMS Support Services Manager and Deputy Support Services Manager informed.
11. Carrying out duties of the Building / Deputy Manager for the Spray Bay in accordance with HMS Heron 4C guidelines.
12. Performing any other aircraft support related tasks as directed by the appropriate manager.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
1. A formal Surface Finishing qualification or equivalent relevant experience meeting UK SEMAR standards.
2. Working knowledge of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, including COSHH regulations.
3. IT literate with a working knowledge of MoD MF707 series of documentation.
4. The drive and motivation to work in a cross-functional and multi-disciplined team.
