You’ll be responsible for providing expert advice to the Housing Options Team and for undertaking complex case work and formal reviews. You’ll support the Housing Options Team Leader and proactively contribute towards the effective leadership and management of the Housing Options Service. You’ll be the first point of contact for the Housing Options Officers and Assessment & Allocation Officers regarding case discussions, providing technical assistance, mentoring and support alongside managing your own caseload of specialist/complex cases. You’ll support with the development and delivery of training to colleagues across the Council and with the development of new initiatives and accommodation solutions. You’ll interpret legislation and case law and undertake regular case reviews to ensure consistency of decisions and compliance within the legal framework. About You You’ll need excellent interpersonal skills to assist our customers and to motivate a team who work in a challenging and complex service. You’ll be able to role model exemplary customer services and support the team to improve performance and service provision where required. You’ll need to have a strong understanding of Housing legislation, the Housing Act 1996 and Homelessness Reduction Act 2017. The role requires someone who can work under pressure, manage conflicting priorities and workloads for themselves and others.
