Senior Staff Nurse Cardiac Cath Labs (Band 6) - Cardiology, Cardiothoracic Directorate - Cardiff and Vale University Health Board

The post holder will work closely with the Lead Nurse in cath labs and multi-disciplinary team members in monitoring and maintaining excellent clinical standards of nursing practice and staff development.
The post holder will be responsible for the continuing professional development and overall performance of staff by acting as a mentor and preceptor. Where applicable, the post holder will take charge of the department on a regular basis.
The post holder is expected to carry out all relevant and specialised forms of care and be part of the primary PCI service on call.
The post holder will work without direct supervision and is required to demonstrate procedures, supervise registered and/or unregistered staff whilst maintaining a safe working environment.
We are looking for a dynamic experienced registered nurse to work with and support the Unit manager to develop the service and share the vision to be the best we can and drive forward the UHB agenda.
The Unit is a busy and critical service for the Health Board and this is an excellent opportunity to learn and develop for the right individual. The post holder will co-manage and support the 3 theatres and regional PPCI service whilst developing the CTO, EP and Structural services with the Unit manager and inter-professional team. The unit is able to provide a wide range of clinical opportunities within the Cardiothoracic Directorate and can offer an environment to develop managerial, clinical and leadership skills.
It is essential that you have substantial post-registration experience and have demonstrable experience of leading and managing a team. You should have excellent communication skills, be motivated and relish working with a busy inter-professional team.
You will need to provide inspirational leadership whilst acting as a positive role model for the staff, to ensure that the highest standards of care are maintained.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this role; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
