Position: Electrical Engineer - Mars Wrigley - Nights
Location: Plymouth
Shifts: 10pm - 6am Mon - Fri
Salary: £41,000 - £51,000 (Base plus shift pay inclusive)
The primary responsibility of the role is to maintain plant equipment and fix mechanical/electrical issues sitewide. For this role, a strong electrical bias with control/automation skill will be required, along with an intermediate level of mechanical expertise.
What are we looking for?
1. Proven experience in diagnosing and fixing automation, electrical and mechanical issues, with an electrical bias, within an FMCG environment.
2. An action-orientated, results-driven, problem solver that works well with people and can prioritise workloads with ease.
3. Higher National Certificate (HNC) in an electrical/automation or multiskilled engineering discipline is desirable, supported by suitable experience.
What would be your key responsibilities?
1. Performing fault diagnosis and resolving random failures on production machinery, including automation, electrical and mechanical issues.
2. Escalating maintenance issues where necessary.
3. Detailed reporting and recording of maintenance work.
4. Providing technical expertise/information to assist others in the resolution of equipment issues.
5. Driving reactive maintenance continuous improvement.
6. Undertaking preventative maintenance activities, equipment checks, repairs, etc.
7. Conducting training and coaching of all operators, technicians, and apprentices.
8. Monitoring and reducing the amount of energy consumed.
9. Completing risk assessment/permit to work and formulating method statements to assist in the safe undertaking of any activity.
10. Measuring and monitoring both the quality of work and the accurate recording of shift reliability issues.
11. Identifying, designing, and implementing controls improvement solutions.
12. Working with engineering on specific electrical and/or controls projects from design to startup, including HMI and PLC programming, installation, checkout, start-up, and training.
13. Providing on-shift plant-wide support (including overtime coverage for vacancies) for diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolution of Level I (PLC/Servos) and Level II (HMI) system-related problems.
