Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen for a substantive Band 7 unit manager of our dermatology outpatients department at Harrogate District Foundation Trust. The department manager shall lead our dynamic and friendly team in a well- established department to meet the ongoing demand on the service, which is open 5 days per week with the occasional Saturday which is optional. We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and well organised individual who has significant experience in Dermatology and would like to progress professionally within this specialty. The post holder will have excellent communication skills and will manage and co-ordinate the day to day clinical, managerial and educational requirements in the area, whilst delivering and overseeing high standards of specialist care to patients who attend our busy department with a wide range of Dermatological conditions. The post holder will require significant Dermatology experience and be responsible for delivering care in all areas of Dermatology Outpatients such as Day care / Phototherapy/minor surgery and nurse led clinics, providing clinical knowledge and expertise to their team, whilst co-ordinating and delivering high quality care. You will act as a role model and support to the rest of the team using your own initiative and problem solving skills. You will need to be flexible and resilient in order to cope with the demands of the service. Main duties of the job The post holder will be a clearly identifiable senior clinical and managerial staff member, and team leader. They will have significant experience and be responsible for delivering care in all areas of Dermatology Outpatients such as Day care / Phototherapy, minor surgery and nurse led clinics providing clinical knowledge and expertise to their team, whilst co-ordinating and delivering high quality care. They will be a role model and lead on specific projects / management functions as delegated by the service manager or Matron and shall work closely within the long term conditions tri-team to continue to make improvements within the service They will uphold the identified Trust values at all times.
