The Resilience Directorate formed in September 2022 and sits within EDS. The Resilience Directorate leads the UK Government's efforts to bolster the UK's resilience. It is responsible for driving forward the Government’s work on national resilience, managing the resilience system, resilience frameworks and risk processes. It focuses on medium to long-term risks to the UK. It is responsible for identifying and monitoring potential issues and working across government to develop and stress-test mitigations as well as shaping policy to improve long-term resilience.
The Resilience Policy and Framework Delivery team is responsible for coordinating and overseeing the Directorate’s overall approach to resilience – delivering the resilience review, coordinating resilience returns for the spending review and supporting wider cross-cutting projects to build resilience. This includes a mix of policy, strategy and engagement.
