Job summary
We are recruiting a housekeeper for our site at Brockfield House. This is an exciting opportunity for highly motivated and professional housekeeper to be part of the support team at Brockfield House to provide a high quality housekeeping service. The ideal candidate will be approachable, flexible and willing to work as part of a team.
To work as part of the housekeeping team within Brockfield House you will be Supporting the Senior Sister, Charge Nurse and Ward Staff in maintaining the ward environment, liaise closely with the Facilities Service Manager and the Estates Help Desk, ensuring that all issues pertaining the patients' environment and needs are dealt with efficiently.
Main duties of the job
1. Support clinical staff by addressing the non-clinical needs of the patients in achieving an excellent level of customer service, by ensuring that the patient environment is a welcoming, clean, comfortable, and safe.
2. Supporting the Senior Sister, Charge Nurse and Ward Staff in maintaining the ward environment, liaise closely with the Facilities Service Manager and the Estates Help Desk, ensuring that all issues pertaining to the patients' environment and needs are dealt with efficiently.

Job responsibilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
10. To work with the domestic staff allocated to your ward(s) to ensure that there is a high standard of cleanliness.
11. Spot clean and ensure spillages are dealt with swiftly and efficiently
12. Bring to the attention of nursing staff any shortfalls in cleanliness of patient equipment.
13. Undertake cleaning of spillages, including body fluids in line with Trust infection control policies and procedures
14. An awareness of all infection control issues
15. Arrange for specialist cleaning as and when required, carpet cleaning, deep cleaning.
16. Address that the patient has all toiletry requisites
17. Responsible for keeping the unit tidy by encouraging both staff and patients to be aware of the standards expected by PLACE.
18. Ensure that segregation and disposal of waste is disposed of according to the Trusts Waste Management Policy
19. Take responsibility to ensure that mandatory training is up to date
20. Able to access and keep self-updated via eLearning/OLM
21. Awareness of ones own self-development needs and attend appropriate course as agreed at appraisal
22. Attend in-service and other training as required, including food hygiene, infection control
23. Awareness of the Trusts Health and Safety Policy, ensuring that a full understanding of the duty of care to patients, visitors, other members of staff and you is upheld as at all times.
24. To liaise with clinical staff and the catering Department to ensure that patients dietary needs are catered for wherever possible.
