The 111 service handles a wide variety of calls, making each day unique.
Please note: This is an office-based role in our Otterbourne office. Remote working is not available. This role is not eligible for Tier 2 visa sponsorship.
Main duties of the job
No medical background is required, only a desire to help. You should be detailed, efficient, assertive, yet compassionate.

We provide a comprehensive 6-week training program, including NHS Pathways (the clinical assessment tool we use). Post-training, you will be equipped to assess patient needs and deliver optimal care.

We offer a competitive hourly rate of £11.70. Additionally, unsocial allowances are provided:
* Time plus 35% for all day Saturday (midnight to midnight) and weekday evenings after 8pm and before 6am (currently £15.80/hr)
* Time plus 69% for all day Sunday and public holidays (midnight to midnight) (currently £19.77/hr)

Job responsibilities
The Recruitment Process
1. Complete the online application form, clearly explaining how you meet the essential and desirable criteria. Use the additional information section for relevant experience.
2. Participate in an online assessment to evaluate listening, understanding, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Access to a webcam and a computer is required.
3. Attend an interview with a 111 Health Advisor Call Handler, discussing your skills and experience, and learning more about the role.
Qualifications and Training
Good all-round education (e.g., 2 GCSEs at grade 4 or above including English), or equivalent experience in a similar role.
This role is only open to individuals over 18 years old for safeguarding reasons.
Completion of NHS Pathways training is required.
Knowledge and Experience
* Customer/patient service experience dealing with the public
* Experience with computerised systems and telephone communication
* Experience in a call centre environment
* Knowledge of the operational area
* Experience working rotating shifts
* Previous experience in the voluntary or health sector
* Experience in patient care
* Knowledge of first aid and/or anatomy
