The Business Development Manager for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is responsible for establishing and building relationships with both external customers (predominantly Blood Sciences Laboratory personnel, Laboratory Managers, C-Suite Executives, Private Sector Commercial Laboratories) and internal customers (General Manager, Service Manager, Tender Project Manager, Application Support and Finance). You will be responsible for achieving, or exceeding, assigned sales targets by retaining existing customers and growing your customer base. This position is part of the Sales department and will be a field-based role covering the Midlands and North West of the UK, with travel across the UK as required. You will be a key part of the Sales Team for Beckman Coulter diagnostics and report to the Regional Sales Manager North responsible for leading and executing the agreed sales strategy to achieve market share gain within the territory. You will be the primary contact for customers and engage with them to ensure business opportunities are maximised - both retention and competitor accounts. In this role, you will have the opportunity to: - Set, lead and execute the agreed sales strategy to achieve market share gain within the territory. Be the primary contact for customers and engage with them to ensure business opportunities are maximised - both retention and competitor accounts. - Actively maintain existing base and competitive business through account management and promotion of products, working with key internal and external customers - Arrange and execute external and internal meetings including presenting and supporting both company and customer needs using DBS tools. - Present action plans at regular intervals to the management team, building on existing relationships and working on competitor business - Ensuring retention rate is maintained for current customers - Maximise your abilities within sales through coaching and development to help stand out amongst the rest - Build on existing customer relationships and on developing partnerships with the different public and private sectors, focusing on the NHS trust stakeholders including decision makers, KOL's and C-Suite level to maximize our value proposition. - Ensure the sales process is always on track and in line with the Company's requirements at sales stage and manage an accurate funnel. - Work on and lead/ project-manage a complex tender response with the ability to work independently and part of a team The essential requirements of the job include: - Outstanding planning and organization skills with evidence of creating and executing successful strategic account plans within the diagnostics or medical sector. - Some experience or knowledge in tender management with the openness to learn and work on complex tenders - Experience in retaining existing customers in a comparable field or complex medical environment with a forward-thinking mindset and excellent attention to detail. - BSc or equivalent qualification in a scientific subject or significant experience in a similar role and understanding of the diagnostics market within the NHS and hospital environment - UK Driving License and Fluent in English It would be a plus if you also possess: - Good knowledge and understanding of business management systems, including excel, word, PowerPoint and proficient in Salesforce. - Understanding of NHS Pathology Networks and confidence in this environment - Ability to "think out of the box" and express creative thinking and innovative ideas.
