Purpose of the Area Sales Engineer role:
The Area Sales Engineer will play a pivotal role in expanding our customer base and maintaining strong connections with current clients. The successful candidate will possess a deep understanding of compressed air and gases, coupled with excellent communication and collaboration skills. This role requires a proactive individual with the ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and thrive in a dynamic sales environment.
Main duties and responsibilities of the Area Sales Engineer role:
* Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the Northern UK territory.
* Keep up to date on industry trends and customer needs.
* Nurture and strengthen relationships with existing clients.
* Provide excellent customer support and address inquiries or concerns promptly.
* Collaborate with other areas of the business to ensure customer satisfaction.
* Possess a good understanding of compressed air and gases and their applications.
* Develop and execute a strategic sales plan for the assigned territory.
* Plan and schedule customer visits, ensuring effective time management.
* Maintain accurate records of sales activities and customer interactions in CRM.
* After undergoing comprehensive training to gain in-depth knowledge of our processes and product offerings, you will be responsible for crafting tailored solutions to meet the unique needs of our customers.
* You will ensure customer satisfaction by maintaining regular contact with customers, responding quickly and professionally to enquiries, and following up on quotations and leads.
* Together with your international colleagues, you will contribute to consistent and profitable sales growth.
Experience/knowledge requirements for the Area Sales Engineer role:
* Previous relevant professional experience in a technical sales role, either internal or external.
* Practical knowledge of MS Office, as well as experience with CRM systems is essential.
* A good understanding of compressed air or gases is necessary; industry experience is desirable.
* Willingness to travel for regular customer visits (North UK responsibility) including overnight stays, as well as some yearly EMEA travel.
* Full clean driving license required.
