Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and developing automated production machinery, including producing new component and assembly drawings, specifying machinery contents, and generating bills of materials for production release.
Additionally, they will work within current CE Machinery Directive/UKCA requirements, maintain existing design data, process engineering changes, and convert 2D to 3D CAD designs.
About the Role
This role is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced mechanical design engineer to join a well-established special purpose machinery manufacturer and contribute to the development of innovative automated production systems.
The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in automated machinery design, with a strong background in 3D design using SolidWorks or other packages such as Inventor, CREO, or Siemens NX.
They should also have experience with pneumatics, conveyor systems, material handling, robotically controlled or automated machinery, and a good understanding of the Machinery Directive and CE/UKCA Marking.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, candidates must have:
* Extensive knowledge of mechanical design principles and practices
* Experience with design software, including SolidWorks and other CAD packages
* Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
* Familiarity with manufacturing processes and quality control procedures
