Role available at a mixed 3-19 special needs school in East London Your new school SEN Class teachers are required for a SEN school based in Waltham Forest. The school teaches children aged 3 to 19 years with varying needs. The pupils needs include complex needs, cognition and learning difficulties. The school is committed to the developed of all their pupils and provides personal targets for each pupil so that they grow in confidence while learning essential life skills. The school was awarded ‘Good’ status in their most recent Ofsted inspection. Your new role Your duties as a SEN Class Teacher will include, but are not limited to: Impart knowledge and develop understanding through effective use of lesson time. Know when and how to differentiate appropriately, using approaches which enable pupils to be taught effectively. Know and understand how to assess the relevant subject and curriculum areas, including statutory assessment requirements. Have clear rules and routines for behaviour in classrooms and take responsibility for promoting good and courteous behaviour both in classrooms and around the school, in accordance with the school’s behaviour policy. Be accountable for pupils’ attainment, progress, and outcomes. Establish a safe and stimulating environment for pupils, rooted in mutual respect. Make a positive contribution to the wider life and ethos of the school.
