JMC are working with a MRO company based in Newquay, looking to recruit a new Base Maintenance Licensed Engineer to join their team. This client is a leading MRO dealing with line and base maintenance as well as interior modifications and fuel systems repair and maintenance for both commercial and military aircraft. This is a Permanent Position based in Newquay. Working 0700 - 1900 on a 5/5/4 shift pattern. Service awards from 2 years The Role The primary purpose of this role is to carry out and certify aircraft maintenance within the limitations of their company approvals. Other duties involve: Agreeing targets and milestones with the Check Manager Management of a defined 'zone' of work to deliver the maintenance task to schedule Utilisation of resources to achieve schedule Certifying specific aircraft types on their QA044 Staff Authorisation Document Co-ordination of all staff within their work area, drawing up a daily work plan to deliver their zone to agreed schedule Allocation of tasks and responsibility within their work area Monitor performance against plan, provide regular briefings, guidance and support to allocated staff as necessary to deliver the plan Work with Check Manager and B1 or B2 Certifying Engineers to identify impending problems and generate solutions Provide updates to Check Manager on any issues impacting their work plan to targets, proposed solutions, next steps within their plan and future work allocation Accountable for the technical integrity of all work carried out under their control Accountable for the conduct and time keeping of all allocated staff whilst employed within their zone of responsibility Assist and advise Check Manager in managing issues such as time keeping, discipline and productivity Assist the Check Manager with individual development including carrying out formal appraisals and advising on suitability for further training or development Responsible for continued H&S 'duty of care' of their team, ensuring all current procedures are followed Carry out DQS self-audit as requested by their Check Manager. Advise and propose revisions to maintain the regulatory compliance of Company Publications Assist with quality audit and support the implementation of robust closure plans Assist Check Manager with the creation & management of budgets as required Skills and experience required. In order to be successful in this role the Base Maintenance Licensed Enginee r will need to demonstrate the following skills and attributes: Part 66 Licence B1 Licence with a type rating.
