Job Description for Embedded Software Engineer and Engineering Manager
We are seeking a talented Embedded Software Engineer and an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our software development team within the Avionics group.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead a global engineering team to provide software development for new product development, iR&D, and product support teams.
* Organize and build talent within the Avionics team, creating opportunities for growth and development.
* Improve efficiency through creative organizational management, effective use of engineering tools, and continuous improvement.
* Drive consistency and best practices across the organization regarding product documentation, design standards, and material specifications.
* Assure competitive product designs in terms of quality, reliability, and cost.
* Collaborate with Aerospace Group level and corporate level Centers of Excellence for seamless product development and capability building.
* Apply robust design principles and promote an 'analysis first' mindset.
* Establish digital processes and expertise aligned to the Aerospace Group strategy.
* Maintain liaison with Operational Excellence to ensure high quality and year-over-year manufacturing cost reductions.
* Develop relationships with universities for advanced products and potential new hires.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Software and Computer Engineering from an accredited institution.
* Advanced degree or MBA preferred.
* 8-10 years of experience in aerospace industry, including software development and verification (Managerial position).
* 4+ years of embedded software experience (Software Engineer position).
Preferred Skills:
* Experience with software development and verification.
* Knowledge and application of DO-178.
* Embedded C experience essential.
* Familiarity with Aerospace industry processes and standards preferred.
* Familiarity with Aerospace AAR, Actuation, or Environmental systems and products preferred.
* Proven track record of driving change and technology development planning.
* Demonstrated leadership skills, portfolio and program management, and customer strategies knowledge.
Estimated Salary: $120,000 - $180,000 per year
