We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Year 1 Teacher to join a supportive and innovative primary school. This is an exciting opportunity to work with young learners, supporting their transition from the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) into Key Stage 1. The ideal candidate will be committed to providing a high standard of education and will inspire pupils to reach their full potential in a nurturing and creative learning environment. This role begins ASAP in February 2025. Duties as a Year 1 Teacher: Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and interactive lessons in line with the Key Stage 1 curriculum Differentiate teaching to meet the needs of all learners, ensuring every child is included and makes progress Develop pupils’ literacy, numeracy, and social skills through a variety of teaching methods and activities Assess, monitor, and track children’s progress, providing feedback and adapting lessons as needed Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment where children feel safe and motivated to learn Foster children’s independence, creativity, and problem-solving skills Work closely with teaching assistants, colleagues, and parents to support children’s learning and well-being Participate in school-wide activities, events, and extracurricular programmes Ideal Year 1 Teacher: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent Experience teaching in Key Stage 1, ideally in Year 1 A strong understanding of the primary curriculum and effective teaching strategies A passion for teaching and a commitment to nurturing young learners Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive learning environment as a Year 1 Teacher Strong communication and teamwork skills, with a collaborative approach to working with staff and parents Why Step Teachers?
