The mechanical fitter’s mate will be part of our installation teams working on the Integrated Operational Solutions (IOS) Framework for the Anglian Water AMP 7/8 Programme. This is a long-term opportunity – we are looking at a further 10 years of work, with the work being in a 50-mile radius of Northampton. The Role: The Mechanical Fitters Mate will be required to assist the fitters with installing mechanical equipment of varying natures on predominantly Anglian Water clean water and wastewater sites, ensuring health and safety are always adhered to and that issues are resolved in a timely and effective manner. They will be expected to work alongside and in conjunction with other disciplines such as electrical and civils to ensure a smooth delivery of the relevant scheme. Some knowledge of maintenance and engineering will be beneficial to assist with delivering schemes which involve updating or improving old systems to ensure they integrate with new equipment. Working within the M&E team to provide engineering and maintenance solutions to a variety of mechanical systems and processes. Key Responsibilities: On-Site Operations Assist the Mechanical Fitter with the Installation of mechanical equipment for water treatment works (Anglian water) to Barhale standards. Work with and have input into risk assessments and method statements to ensure health and safety are always strictly adhered to. Ensure that you are following all company and client rules. Actively engage with management in the planning, organizing and delivery of work. Assist site teams with the requisitioning of materials and equipment promptly where necessary. Assist mechanical fitter with day-to-day operations on site. Identify site issues and report to team leaders to ensure resolution. Key measures & targets Assist with the delivery of projects to the water industry standards within the IOS Framework, on time and to budget.
