ADAS, part of the RSK Group is seeking a Senior Research Manager to join the Sustainable Agricultural Solutions team. The role is full-time, permanent and field based from the Rosemaund, Hereford office. You will be required to lead a team of staff in the delivery of a range of mainly field based trials focusing on arable cropping, soils, water and environmental areas. The role involves identification and planning of resources to deliver work in a cost-effective manner, meeting client needs, ensuring high levels of satisfaction, with the objective of ensuring clients view ADAS as their preferred supplier. Responsibilities: Take responsibility for the management of a research team of Scientific Support Staff, delivering primarily field-based research projects across a range of arable cropping, soil, water, and environmental based projects Line manage staff and lead teams managing trial tasks associated with an experiment or groups of trials Take responsibility for the management of allocated field equipment operating primarily from the Rosemaund site Liaise with consultants and field staff to identify work, plan, and allocate appropriate resources, ensuring delivery is in line with client expectations, whilst meeting both internal and external Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality (SHEQ) requirements Liaise with Technical and Principal Research Scientists to identify and allocate staff and equipment resource requirements, alongside SHEQ and QMS Work planning, long term and short term for all fieldwork delivered from the Rosemaund site Skills and Experience: A team player, with a flexible approach to work, and enthusiasm for working in a team environment Able to motivate, lead and supervise a team of staff A meticulous approach to research, in field, laboratory, or other work environment Able to communicate effectively with colleagues, including field staff, consultants, senior managers and clients A basic working knowledge of agriculture and horticulture, preferably including some agricultural operating experience would be desirable Full UK driving licence (trailer licence advantageous) Salary and benefits: £33,000 per annum Life assurance A flexible benefits programme including the option to buy additional holidays, health cash plan and discounted gym membership RSK Group is an Equal Opportunities Employer RSK Group is an Equal Opportunities Employer.
