Design Engineer, £32,000 - £38,000 (DOE), Monday to Friday - no shifts, 32 days holiday, permanent contract, growing company, strong order book, working on bespoke projects.
A Design Engineer is needed to work for an innovative and well-established automotive manufacturing business that is a leader in its field. The role has become available due to company expansion, and there are many interesting projects to work on with a supportive long-standing team in place.
Responsibilities and Tasks:
As a Design Engineer, you will be responsible for:
* Working on the build of specialist vehicles for both national and international clients.
* Taking the initial brief from the customer and working through the initial stages all the way through to the approval stage.
* Producing full production drawings including BOMs ready to go to the programming stage for full production roll-out.
Key Responsibilities:
* Liaising with the Sales/project team and clients to take project briefs.
* Taking concept models from briefs, ready for customer sign-off.
* Producing 3D models of concepts to the point of releasing fabrication drawings and DXFs ready for programming - this could be anything from a simple box design to full vehicle bodies.
* Draughting full manufacturing drawings ready for release to the workshop teams.
* Creating Bill of Materials, audit trails, and releases of product changes.
* Liaising with the internal manufacturing team to resolve any production issues.
Minimum Requirements:
* 2 years' experience with strong experience in fabrication design (i.e., plastics and sheet metal materials).
* Proficient in using Solidworks.
* Some knowledge of CNC Programming using Alphacam (Desirable).
Benefits of the Design Engineer Role:
Salary/Package: £32,000 - £38,000 (Dependent on Experience).
Working Hours: Monday to Thursday 8 am to 4:30 pm - Fridays 8 am to 3:15 pm.
Holidays: 24 days holiday plus bank holidays.
