We are looking for a Senior Process Engineer to provide Process Engineering expertise to the production plants, alongside the development and implementation of Capital and continuous improvement projects. More about the role As Senior Process Engineer you will lead on various activities including; Design for capital projects; including optioneering, equipment specification and detailed design. Creation, checking and approval of process engineering deliverables and vendor documents such as PFDs, mass and energy balances, P&IDs, process descriptions, process data sheets, trip and interlock schedules and control philosophies. Input to hazard studies, relief and blowdown studies, area classification reviews and LOPA reviews. Commissioning of new equipment installed as part of projects to deliver beneficial operation. To include the supervision, where required, of commissioning technicians and contractors. Reporting to the Engineering Manager you will support the integration of new projects into the existing Victrex SHE and Engineering systems to ensure smooth handover to the plant Operations team. Deliver plant optimisation projects resulting in reduced operating costs and increased production output. Whilst providing technical expertise to the Operations team for troubleshooting and continuous improvement of the site operations. Optimisation of existing assets with respect to: throughput, yield, batch to batch repeatability, consistency and energy efficiency. You will identify opportunities & produce feasibility studies for improving all aspects of the manufacturing operations. The Senior Process Engineer will provide support for the implementation and maintenance of Victrex Engineering standards and systems. As well as coaching and mentoring less experienced engineers. Your experience We are looking for someone with excellent communications skills with proven experience of communicating to and influencing a wide range of stakeholders, including senior management. Extensive knowledge of Process Engineering statutory regulations. You will have demonstrable knowledge and practical application of Project management methods and continuous improvement methods for example lean six sigma. Our ideal candidate will have delivered major capital projects on COMAH regulated production plants and have significant knowledge of Process Safety including experience of hazard studies, functional safety, DSEAR and pressure relief. You will have led the commissioning of new equipment and production plants and have experience of delivering significant plant improvement projects resulting in significant business benefits. A degree in chemical engineering or relevant experience and chartered status is preferred. A Six Sigma green belt qualification would be desirable.
