Band 5 Staff Nurse
Fortuneswell ward is a 20 bed in-patient ward specialising in the care of adults with cancer and haematological disease. The ward commonly manages patients who are admitted with acute problems relating to their cancer or its treatment and also palliative patients with complex symptom issues.
We are looking for a Band 5 Registered Nurse who is motivated and enthusiastic with a genuine interest in caring for patients with cancer and to support the Nursing team on the ward.
You should have an interest in oncology and/or haemato-oncology. You must be able to work shifts and be flexible to meet the needs of the service. You must possess excellent communication skills and will ideally be competent at venepuncture and cannulation but not essential. Qualifications and experience in administering chemotherapy would be advantageous to the applicant but are NOT required for this role, we are looking for good medical nurses who are keen and willing to train.
This is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to develop their nursing career in oncology/haematology with training available in post.
There may be opportunity to embark on a rotational post that would include the chemotherapy outpatient unit and time spent with the acute oncology team. This can be discussed further at the interview stage.
