Come and join us About the Role The UK Site Procurement Manager role will be responsible for management of purchasing strategy for both Direct and Indirect spend, as well as ensuring optimal supplier performance and price management. The successful candidate will also be responsible for ensuring all associated procurement compliance and governance is delivered, overall responsibility for Purchasing and Cost Estimating activities across the business, as well as managing the overall supplier contracts Results Focus: Create and implement a strategy to ensure the function is operating in line with the objectives of the business to add value, mitigate supply chain risk and deliver cost savings. Develop and maintain strategic supplier relationships and manage the development of contracts, contractual relationships and contract management to deliver continuous improvement in delivery of goods and services by the supply base. Lead and manage the team to deliver the appropriate support to the business to ensure corporate and business development objectives are met. Work alongside the UK and group senior management team in contributing to overall business objectives. practice purchasing vision, strategy, policies, processes, and procedures to aid and improve business performance and developing the wider supply chain. Ensure that purchasing strategies and processes are in place to meet business objectives and operational needs in terms of price, quality, delivery and development targets, which enables the company to function and compete effectively in the market to include; Terms and conditions, supplier selection/de-selection, evaluation and rationalisation of supply chain solutions including vendor managed inventory, supplier consignments and safety stock Evaluate the challenges faced by the business and take action to mitigate risks and develop opportunities across both the UK business and the BDR group. Contribute to overall business strategy and annual budget process Take ownership of the purchasing policy, guidelines and any associated documents Initiate and develop creative and innovative procurement processes (eProcurement) Leadership Focus: Ensure effective communications in support of cultural change, being pro-active. Supervise, coach, develop and provide leadership and direction to your wider team in line with Company values Promote team working and a “One Team” ethos. Define and assist in training, development and succession planning of your team. Together with the leadership team, understand customer demands and through the S&OP process, define actions needed to improve performance. Engage with and cascade to manufacturing teams in this process. Organise regular formal and informal performance feedback with supervisors and conduct 6-monthly appraisals for your direct reports. Maintain organisation and discipline across your function. Partner with the Supply chain team, to generate robust build plans. Review and as appropriate, introduce changes to the planning process, to ensure the most effective utilisation of resource and optimise cost. Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure optimal performance Work collaboratively, negotiate and engage with key stakeholders to facilitate delivery and compliance with the purchasing strategy Communicate with stakeholders the impact of market change and potential effects on supply. Recommend solutions without compromising quality or service while optimising cost Contribute to new business initiatives and projects and review and communicate the impact on Purchasing activities Actively contribute and participate in UK and Group people initiatives in partnership with HR Team. Financial Focus: As part of the Group procurement and manufacturing leadership team, support delivery of budgeted orders Engage in monthly production performance reviews and prepare improvement action plans Ensure that annual departmental budgets are adhered to Provide inputs for periodic forecasts and monthly, quarterly, half and full-year reports. Identify Capex requirements to improve safety, quality & boost productivity. Prepare payback justifications. Input and hold responsibility for Purchasing and cost estimating budgets Prepare the annual Purchasing budget and forecasts and all Capital Expenditure proposals as well as ensuring compliance with customer and legal requirements. Manage the budget from identification to completion of projects Additional Duties, Responsibilities & Measurements: The successful candidate will play a key role in accelerating the stabilisation of business and transformation of the group purchasing – both of which are essential to the delivery of Baxi’s strategic business objectives for customer delivery, efficiency improvement, cost reduction, delivering financial growth.
