Job Description
Join a forward-thinking team as an experienced Senior Project Manager ready to run utility construction projects in the transmission group, while also mentoring up-and-coming Associate Project Managers. Our client’s project delivery process is simple and streamlined, utilizing current, efficient methodologies and software to enhance project execution.
Base Location/Travel Requirements:
* This position is based near central Pennsylvania, with offices located in York, Macungie, or Norristown, Pennsylvania.
* This is a remote position with flexibility to work from home or from any of the client's office locations when appropriate.
* Some travel is required to customer job sites (approximately 1-3 times per week), other offices, yard locations, or for training and offsite meetings.
Essential Functions/Duties:
* Conduct weekly crew observations.
* Review RFPs, proposals, estimates, schedules, and contract documents to become familiar with project requirements and obligations.
* Prepare subcontracts and contracts for signature by divisional leadership.
* Ensure personnel and equipment are appropriately assigned to projects.
* Arrange and facilitate meetings to finalize schedules, permits, and job layouts, while communicating key information to the Safety and Quality department.
* Procure materials per specifications and arrange delivery with vendors.
* Lead pre- and post-construction meetings and maintain agendas.
* Develop and oversee Site-Specific Safety Plans (SSSP).
* Coordinate subcontractors, manpower, tools, equipment, and material deliveries.
* Establish and monitor construction schedules to ensure milestone dates are met.
* Review and maintain last planner schedules with foremen, ensuring alignment with project targets.
* Mentor Associate Project Managers to ensure adherence to effective project delivery processes.
* Resolve project issues in collaboration with owners, engineers, and subcontractors.
* Monitor project costs and assist Accounting with billing and collections.
* Manage project submittals, shop drawings, and material samples.
* Prepare and lead WIP and Focus Job meetings monthly.
* Manage and submit all project change orders.
Education, Skills, Experience:
Required:
* Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Utility Project Management.
* Valid Driver’s License or equivalent.
* Must meet Federal I-9 requirements for employment authorization.
Desired:
* Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline, or equivalent education and work experience.
* PMP, FMI, or Primavera certifications.
