Our award-winning media team is looking for a Social Media Officer with creative flare who can champion the social team to increase the relevance of the British Red Cross to our online audiences. What does a day in the life of a Social Media Officer look like?
1. This is an chance for you to develop and create content and campaigns that inspire people to take action and help people in crisis in the UK and all over the world.
2. As Social Media Officer, you will promote greater public awareness and perception of the British Red Cross using our social media channels – everything from Facebook to TikTok!
3. Working closely with colleagues across the Strategy and Communications directorate to ensure integrated communications, you will assist the social media manager to continue to innovate and make the British Red Cross an exemplar of social media storytelling.
Do you have what it takes to be a successful Social Media Officer?
4. You will be a creative person who has an excellent conception of social media platforms, the ability to use video and image editing tools, as well as social media reporting tools.
5. With demonstrable examples of successful pieces of work and campaigns delivered, you will have experience of working in a digital environment in a social media, editorial, public relations, marketing or similar context.
6. You will be tactful and diplomatic with an ability to handle delicate and confidential information and be able to handle multiple projects and competing priorities in a fast-changing environment.
7. With sound judgement about delicate issues often involving vulnerable people and will have experience of managing online communities and professional use of networking or content sharing sites such as the running of a blog or Twitter account for an organisation.
