An opportunity has arisen for an outstanding candidate to join our Battery Systems Department and support the delivery of battery test and sign-off activities across all electrification programs at WAE. Innovation is central to our work, and you will be an integral team member supporting a diverse client base.
Job role:
1. Owning and maintaining test procedure documentation, including Battery Module & Pack level electrical test activities, focusing on supporting DV & EoL tests.
2. Engaging with engineering teams to gather relevant inputs.
3. Determining test requirements, assisting with test setup, and executing tests.
4. Identifying issues during testing and helping resolve them, both remotely and in person as needed.
5. Reviewing test data and using automated scripts to generate reports.
6. Compiling data and reports, maintaining tracker documentation.
7. Reporting issues with results to relevant teams.
8. Identifying limitations in test procedures and seeking continuous improvement opportunities.
9. Staying updated with state-of-the-art cell technology.
10. Following WAE HaV safe procedures of work.
11. Identifying and maintaining test equipment needs.
12. Engaging with stakeholders at all levels.
13. Representing WAE at external test house locations.
Location:
* WAE Kidlington / WAE Wantage / External test house support as required.
Qualifications and experience:
* A relevant qualification in Electrical or Automotive Engineering with relevant experience.
* Hands-on engineering approach.
* Knowledge of key battery technologies.
* Experience setting up and supporting battery testing.
* Experience analyzing battery data using tools like MATLAB, CANalyser, Atlas, or similar.
* Ability to diagnose issues during tests and implement solutions.
* Familiarity with HV battery systems.
* Strong interpersonal skills and teamwork abilities.
* Driver’s license preferred for supporting tests at multiple locations.
