A Telford based manufacturing business is seeking a dynamic and innovative individual to join their team as an Operations Manager (Warehouse).
The successful candidate will have a proven track record of improving processes within a warehouse setting, as well as a strong knowledge of ERP systems and experience in successfully implementing new systems. This is a £10m turnover business looking to strengthen their financial position within the next 18 months to 2 years.
Position: Operations Manager (Warehouse)
Salary: Up to £50,000 per annum + benefits
Location: Telford
Responsibilities for the Operations Manager:
1. Managing inventory levels, optimizing workflow processes, and ensuring efficient production schedules are met.
2. Leading a team of warehouse staff, providing training and guidance as needed to ensure maximum productivity and efficiency.
3. Supporting the Operations Director in upgrading our Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) platform and introducing a Warehouse Management System (WMS).
4. Helping build a strong supply chain by monitoring and reporting on supplier performance.
5. Identifying and implementing operational and warehouse process improvements.
6. Accountability for the purchasing, shipping, storage, and distribution of all customer stock.
7. Implementation of agreed stock management strategy to maintain stock levels.
8. Effective and efficient deployment of staff, including proactive management and performance reviews.
9. Developing and delivering plans to boost operation performance with the introduction of WMS and ERP upgrades.
10. Rationalising Operational and Warehouse reporting to focus on core KPIs.
11. Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the business environment.
Requirements for the Operations Manager:
1. Experience in an Operations Manufacturing and Warehousing environment.
2. A proven track record of success in a Senior Leadership Role.
3. Experience in digital transformation, with strong knowledge of NAV2016, ERP, WMS, and upgrade experience to MS Dynamics Business Central (desirable).
4. Strong communication skills internally and externally.
5. Strong project management skills and a goal-oriented proactive planner.
6. Strong numeracy and attention to detail.
7. Ability to prioritise, organise, and manage a demanding workload.
8. A hunger for personal growth alongside business growth.
