Job Advert
We are looking for a Support Worker to join our Service based in Chesterfield on a permanent part-time basis (30 hours per week).
Shifts will be spread across mornings, afternoons, evenings, sleep-ins, weekends, and bank holidays. The ability to work in the evening and at weekends is a requirement for this position.
About the Service
We are currently supporting four gentlemen and have a team of support workers working at this Service. The people we support enjoy being out in the community and particularly visiting shops, going to the pub, and participating in community activities. The individuals may show challenging behaviour, so experience in this area would be ideal. However, previous experience is not essential as full training will be provided, including positive behaviour support training.
What does a Support Worker do?
As a Support Worker, you will be expected to provide an outstanding level of support that will help ensure the people we support live a more comfortable, dignified, liberated, and happy life. You will have excellent communication skills and be a naturally caring and patient individual. Typical responsibilities may include:
* Supporting people to live independently: budget management, paying bills, housework, organising appointments, and cooking healthy meals.
* Relationship building: supporting the individuals to understand the world around them and promoting positive relationships.
* Community & Social Inclusion: supporting individuals to access and participate in their local community and social events to promote life skills and individuality.
* Personal care: assisting individuals with getting ready for the day, which may include prompting medication and assisting with bathing, showering, and using the bathroom. Not all Support Worker roles include high levels of personal care.
