Job Summary:
As a Project Employee supporting the WNBA Public Relations team, you will play a critical role in executing day:to:day public relations activities and assisting senior team members with various PR tasks. You'll contribute to the development of key messaging, media outreach, and workback timelines. while also handling administrative and executional tasks that help keep our multi:workstream launches on track. This position is ideal for someone who is eager to learn and grow in the PR and communications field, with a passion for sports and media.
Major Responsibilities:
:Responsible for working with executive office, marketing, PR, and additional cross functional teams to drive multi:channel communication roll :out strategies and timelines
:Write internal and external executive communications and manage Office of the Commissioner communications plan
:Translation of an annual social and digital content calendar (as determined by marketing team) into key communication moments, working to integrate moments with the WNBA PR's strategy to amplify with earned and organic press
:Lead Social Responsibility communications strategy and messaging, pulling together a calendar of key social responsibility and community communication for WNBA teams and league staff
:Draft timelines and generate buy in for cross:functional communications plans for multi:department and multi:vehicle announcements.
:Collaboration with marketing (social, CRM, and digital teams), partnership, licensing, PR, etc. for team and league announcements. Examples could include: All Star Ticket On:Sale Date or new partnership announcements.
:Understand team bandwidth and workback timelines for assets to identify communication plan.
:Determine annual content and marketing award strategy and manage submission process.
:Serve as the point person between marketing and PR for streaming press conferences on digital platforms.
:Work with Marketing Content team to manage the league's LinkedIn channel messaging and strategy.
Required Education/Professional Experience:
:Bachelor's degree in communications, public Relations, marketing, or related field (or equivalent experience).
:Experience managing and advising use of social and digital communication vehicles for corporate messaging (Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn).
:More than 5 years of experience in communications, marketing, and project management.
