This is an interesting role for an experienced quality engineer to support this specialist defence manufacturer in further developing their quality approach and standards within Fairs on a permanent basis. As a small, specialist manufacturing environment the quality engineering must be an allrounder capable of operating at all levels and supporting supplier and customer engagement where required. As quality Engineer you will be involved in all areas of the manufacturing and production area reporting to the Quality Manager and integrating with operations. Key Responsibilities · Management of Supplier, internal and customer non-conformances to ensure part quality standards and production validity. · 1st article inspection management to AS9102 coordinating all oversight and validation of issues · Review and acceptance of AS9102 First Article Inspection documentation · Implementing and managing an 8D corrective action process throughout an international supply chain providing technical support to suppliers globally · Implementing corrective actions and root cause analysis · Leading with investigation into quality issues remotely or potentially at supplier sites · Supporting new product / quality process introduction · Identifying and controlling changes required through all departments as required · Writing control plans and work instructions to AS9100 and as part of standard ISO9001 methods · Able to support at all levels including hands on quality checks were required. The ideal candidate will have the following experience · Qualified lead auditor Qualified to AS(Apply online only) rev D & AS9102 · Using Quality tools such as APQP, DFMEA / PFMEA, 8D, 5Y and root cause analysis and source inspection duties. · Management of reducing non-conformances corrective actions and analysing problems including identification of root causes and establishing resolution · Writing control plans and work instructions toAS9100 and as part of standard ISO9001 methods · Experience in Supplier Quality Management and utilising 8D problem-solving principles. · Strong negotiation skills to effectively obtain results and resolve concerns with suppliers. · Excellent verbal and written communication skills. · Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for report creation. · Ability to work independently with limited supervision and demonstrate initiative.
