Bartlett Ward is friendly department who pride ourselves on working together as part of a team. Our unit consists of 21 inpatient beds, Treatment Centre Reception Area and the Day Surgery Unit.
The role of the Ward Clerk/Receptionist, is to assist the clinical team, enabling the smooth functioning of the unit through effective communication, general administration and appropriate interactions with patients, visitors and the multi-disciplinary team.
All activities will be under the direction of the Ward Sisters, Clinical Matron and nurse in charge on shift.
The successful candidate will have the responsibility of providing administrative support for both the inpatient ward, Treatment Centre Reception area and the Day Surgery Unit. This will include being the friendly face of these areas, warmly greeting and directing visitors to both areas and managing phone calls into the department. They will also be responsible for tracking the patients on their journey through the department, requesting and tracking notes, filing and making sure that the electronic systems are up to date as well as checking paperwork stocks.
They will also be responsible for preparing notes for elective surgery and ensuring the pre-assessment paperwork is available.
They will need to have good working relationships with the multi-disciplinary team, including Consultants, Secretaries, other admin teams and the ward nursing staff
