Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital is looking for an administrator with experience who can provide strong organisational and administrative support to the diabetes team. You will be based predominantly at the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital and will also provide support to the North Manchester General Hospital Diabetes team with a requirement to cross cover South Manchester where needed. You may be required to work cross-site on occasion.
Main duties of the job
The Paediatric Diabetes MCS Administrator will ensure the highest standard of service delivery within the Paediatric Diabetes team providing essential administration and validation support as well as a variety of secretarial tasks. You will balance the needs of the service with the needs of staff, ensuring the continuity of an effective service.
The post holder will also act as MDT administrator and coordinator for the team, supporting medical, nursing, dietitian, and psychology input, ensuring patients are managed in accordance with the Best Practice Tariffs (BPT) and NICE guidelines.
The successful candidate will work without supervision and show extensive use of initiative in prioritising and making decisions in relation to effectively supporting the smooth operation for the service.

Qualifications
Experience/Knowledge
* Previous experience in a similar administrative role.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Competent using Microsoft Office Applications – e.g. Outlook, Excel, Word, Microsoft Teams.
* Experience of providing good quality customer care.
* Understanding of confidentiality and data protection principles.
* NHS Experience in a similar role.
* Experience of working with and using NHS systems/electronic patient records.
* Experience ordering and receipting using finance systems.
* Experience of diary management and meeting management, including the provision of minutes and action logs.
Skills and Abilities
* Able to prioritise work to meet deadlines whilst managing interruptions from staff/patients.
* Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team.
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
