Purpose and Impact
An exciting opportunity to join Active Dorset and lead our CIO facilities in Weymouth and Bournemouth, to work alongside others to build on the existing successes in transforming spaces for communities to be active.
You will build open and honest relationships with a range of people and organisations who share the same values, motivations and desire to affect change to help achieve the goals of Active Dorset and the Our Dorset Movement for Movement strategy.
The role is responsible for leading the work, staff and volunteers at our facilities in Weymouth and Bournemouth, to connect, collaborate, influence and create a culture where everyone can be active.
Significant investment will deliver new 3G artificial pitches, a new cricket wicket and opportunities for informal activity in Weymouth, we're offering the opportunity to be a key part of delivering that work and ensuring the local community maximise the benefits of what will be excellent facilities.
Building relationships which will support communities including those with high levels of inactivity and inequalities to find opportunities to be active. Close working with leaders from Local authorities, Public Health, NHS, Education and community and voluntary sector, will be key.

We are looking for a passionate leader with experience of developing positive relationships with people at all levels. You will have experience in developing and managing teams, setting strategy, managing budgets and working collaboratively to develop and/or deliver a shared purpose.
You will be knowledgeable about physical activity development and facility operations. Be a good listener and good at asking questions. You will be able and willing to challenge, in a positive way and will be self-reflective, self-aware and able to adapt your approach. The post holder will be expected to work on their own initiative but pull support from their line manager as appropriate.
About the role
The postholder will join our Senior Management Team and will be key in ensuring that the work of Active Dorset CIO is aligned to the priorities of the Active Partnership, Active Dorset CIC and that of our local partners.
The role will be full time with approximately half spent in Bournemouth and half in Weymouth. Some flexibility around evening and weekend working will be required.

Key responsibilities
* Facility Management and oversight
* Represent Active Dorset and build relationships with the community and key stakeholders including but not limited to local authorities, NHS partners, National Governing Bodies, Football Foundation, contractors, volunteers and voluntary community sector organisations.
* Carry out necessary duties (or delegate to line reports) to ensure compliance with the policies and processes of Active Dorset CIO and CIC, including GDPR, health and safety, food hygiene, fire safety and safeguarding.
* Develop and monitor workplans for staff based at both sites, aligned to the Active Dorset business plan.
* Support with management and process for facility bookings at Slades Park and Redlands, working with the business support team.
* Be a point of contact for out of hours emergencies where required.
* Produce board reports for the CIO, use the Active Dorset evaluation framework to capture the impact and to tell the story of our work.
* Communicating with internal and external colleagues and partner organisations via email and telephone, answering general enquiries, attending meetings.
* Contribute to the ongoing development of our equality and diversity action plan, demonstrating a commitment to continuous improvement.
* Make recommendations to Trustees for developments and improvements to grow the impact of our charitable aims
* Provide line management and support for Site Managers at both Redlands and Slades.
* Capture accurate data using digital systems, ensuring high quality administration and record keeping at all times
* Promote and keep up to date with the wider work of Active Dorset
NB: The duties and responsibilities of this post are not restrictive, and the post holder may be required on occasion to undertake other duties. This will not substantially change the nature of the post.
