This is an exciting post established as part of the Community Mental Health Transformation with a primary focus on supporting the expansion and implementation of FREED (First episode Rapid Early intervention for Eating Disorders) pathway for individuals aged 16 – 25 residing in the Solihull catchment area.
The post is based in the Eating Disorders Service at The Barberry in Edgbaston but the post holder will work across different sites covering the Adult Eating Disorder Community Team at the Barberry and TEDS (CYP) Team in Solihull. The post holder has primary responsibility for ensuring the smooth and effective implementation of the FREED pathway. This will involve considerable liaison with, and education of, Primary Care Services, to promote the new treatment pathway. The post will also involve managing all referrals for this pathway in conjunction with other team members; offering initial triage and assessment as well as providing evidence-based interventions for the FREED-eligible client group.
Being allied to the multi-disciplinary teams in both the Adult and CYP Eating Disorders Community Services, the post holder will act as a member of the teams, attend meetings and contribute to patient care and treatment within the teams. The post holder will also fulfil an important role of supporting a smooth transition of service users from CYP to the Adult ED Service.
