About Our Client
My client is a well-known business who manage a group of aggregate quarries that have been in operation for generations. They have sites across Yorkshire, with a headquarters near Wakefield and are looking for an Engineering Manager to manage the new equipment investment that will bring the engineering capability into the new age.
Job Description
* To manage the engineering functions of the quarries business for all plant machinery, including direct employees and contractors.
* To ensure upgrade works, preventative and planned maintenance activities are performed to the highest standards.
* Ensuring that all operations take place with a health and safety mindset.
* Carrying out daily/weekly/monthly inspections and reporting defects as required.
* Align maintenance plans to achieve KPIs and market demand, planning major projects and capital investments around plant needs.
* Providing leadership, coaching, training and development to all employees within the engineering department.
The Successful Applicant
The successful Engineering Manager will have:
* Experience in the maintenance and repair of quarrying plant equipment.
* Strong leadership and team management skills.
* Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to continuous improvement.
* Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations.
* Familiarity of CDM regulations would be desirable.
* Electrical knowledge would be advantageous.
