Main duties of the job
As a Healthcare Assistant working nights with our community based team in Whitby and the North Yorkshire Moors, you'll be supporting patients and families in their time of greatest need. We provide free specialist palliative care and support to patients withlife limiting illness whilst offering vital emotional support for their families.

Salary: Marie Curie Clinical Pay Scale Band 2 (aligned with AFC)£22,383 pro rata, per annum + enhancements
Hours/Contract: Part time 18 hours (2 nights) per week
Based: Whitby/North Yorkshire Moors within a 25-mile radius of your home

What we are looking for :
21. Be a UK licensed driver with access to a car and business insurance is essential
22. Relevant community experience
23. S/NVQ Level 2 qualification or an equivalent certificate/diploma is required
24. Emotional strength and the ability to work on your own are crucial, though we will of course provide excellent on-going training and support
25. Recent experience of providing care and caring for people with life limiting illness or palliative care needs
With experience of End of Life care, you're ready and able to make a real difference. Working without close supervision, you'll have the opportunity to use your own initiative in line with the patient's established care plan. You'll be required to carry out a range of care duties including helping patients meet their hygiene needs, monitoring symptoms, assisting with medications and keeping detailed records and emotional support to the patient and their families.
